Infiltration tests

Is the architect designing a system to allow rainwater to infiltrate? In that case, the architect would need information about how permeable the soil is. An infiltration test provides the necessary insight.
Measuring permeability at different depths
We can measure the permeability of the soil at different depths. At each depth, a different technique is used.
-
Surface measurement: double ring
-
Up to 2.5 metres below ground level: Compact Constant Head Permeameter

Why infiltrate rainwater?
Today, government regulations require you to locally infiltrate excess rainfall. Part of the rainwater can be reused in the house, while the rest must be allowed to seep into the soil.
