Cone penetration tests

What foundation does your construction project need?
Cone Penetration Tests are the easiest, fastest, and cheapest way to determine this. They provide insight into the load-bearing capacity of your building site.
Based on this, we advise you on the right foundation.
How does cone penetration tests actually work?
During a CPT, we push a steel tip (a cone) into the soil with a constant applied force of 10 or 20 tons.
The more resistance the cone encounters, the more load-bearing the subsoil is. In other words: the harder the cone penetrates the soil, the better your building ground.

More about cone penetration tests
-
Applied forceA Cone penetration test is carried out with an applied force of 10 or 20 tons.
-
Aantal meetpunten
By default, at least three CPTs are carried out per site.
-
Spreiding in de bouwzone
The CPT points are spread across the construction area to give a complete picture of the subsurface.
-
Mechanische sondering
Most CPTs are performed mechanically. The measurement takes place above ground, in the CPT rig.
-
Electrical CPT
Sometimes an electrical cone penetration test is performed. In this case, the measurement equipment is inside the cone, below the ground. This method is more accurate, but also more expensive.
